If you are having trouble printing, it is important to make sure that the uniFLOW smart client is running in the background on your device. The uniFLOW smart client is a piece of software that powers the Follow Me Print option on your computer.
First of all, we recommend a full restart of your computer before anything else (restart, rather than shutting down and starting). This will ensure all drivers and services are restarted. This will often solve most issues that you might come across. If you are still having issues after a restart, you can follow the steps below to ensure that uniFLOW is up and running.
Step 1 - Click on the 'up' arrow (^) towards the bottom right of the screen and locate the uniFLOW logo/icon:
Step 2 - As you can see from the screenshot below, we need to hover the cursor over the uniFLOW icon. When you hover the cursor, you should see a pop up saying "uniFLOW SmartClient: Connected!". If so, uniFLOW is running properly and is connected with the uniFLOW cloud service.
Step 3 - If you cannot see the icon, then there is a problem with the uniFLOW software and it needs to be started. To do this, click on the start menu and search for 'uniFLOW'. Locate and launch the 'uniFLOW SmartClient' option.
Step 4 - After approximately 20-30 seconds the app should have launched and connected to the cloud service in the background and you should be ready to print again. You can re-check in the taskbar to ensure that the uniFLOW icon has appeared and is coloured (not grey).
If you find your uniFLOW smart client is open and printing still isn't reaching the copier, please check your print queue and clear anything that is stuck.
If you are still unable to print, or the uniFLOW icon is stuck grey - please contact IT Support for further assistance with this problem.
