Now that you have set up your brand new, fancy mailbox to send and receive emails from your very own domain – you probably want to add it to your phone! This guide will walk you through the necessary steps to add that mailbox to properly send and receive mail on your iOS device (iPhone/iPad), so that you’re always connected wherever you have a data connection.

  1. Open the ‘Settings‘ app on your device (it looks like a little silver cog).
  2. Scroll down to the ‘Mail‘ option, and select it.
  3. Now select ‘Accounts‘.
  4. Then tap on ‘Add Account‘.
  5. On the next screen you will see a list of service providers (e.g. iCloud / Google / Outlook.com / etc), at the bottom of the list select ‘Other‘.
  6. Under the ‘Mail‘ header, click on ‘Add Mail Account‘.
  7. Complete the fields on the next screen as show below:
    1. Name: (Your name, this will be shown to your email recipients when you send them an email)
    2. Email: (Your email, in full e.g. hello@blackowl.co.uk)
    3. Password: (Your password)
    4. Description: (A reference to identify your email, e.g. your organisation name. This is only visible on your device)
  8. Once you have completed the above fields, select ‘Next‘ to move on.
  9. Ensure that you have selected ‘IMAP‘ and not POP.
  10. Check the fields under the heading ‘Incoming Mail Server‘ match the below:
    1. Host Name: imap.stackmail.com
    2. Username: (Your full email address)
    3. Password: (Your password)
  11. Although the ‘Outgoing Mail Server‘ is marked as optional, you will be unable to send mail without completing these fields. They should match the below:
    1. Host Name: smtp.stackmail.com
    2. Username: (Your full email address)
    3. Password: (Your password)
  12. Click on ‘Save‘ at the top right corner of your screen and your account should be ready to use within a few seconds.

We would recommend sending a test email to and from your newly-added mailbox from another email address just to make sure everything is working as you expected.

If you have any problems getting connected, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us and we’ll be happy to help.
