(This guide is designed for organisations running Microsoft 365)

The coronavirus pandemic has massively changed how almost all businesses, charities and individuals communicate with one another globally. Black Owl are huge fans of Microsoft Teams which is provided as part of their competitive Office 365 package(s).

If you have an existing Office 365 account through work or school, we recommend making use of the free desktop application (app) for Mac and Windows for the best experience. You can download the app directly from Microsoft on their website, here.

  1. Head over to the link provided above to download Teams for your operating system (OS). Teams is available for Windows and Mac.

  5. After you have signed in, you should see the Teams dashboard which will look something like the below screenshot. You are now free to explore the world of Teams!

Please note: While Teams is available for personal Microsoft accounts, Teams works best when you sign into your organisation’s work/school email account. This will usually end with your companies domain name e.g. @contoso.com.

When setting up Microsoft Teams, you may be asked if you want to Stay signed in to all your apps. If you are using a personally-owned device, we recommend un-ticking the ‘Allow my organisation to manage my device’ and then click on ‘No, sign in to this app only’.
